What we Believe in...

The Bible is our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. There are sixteen statements of fundamental truths from the scriptures we believe. These are non-negotiable tenets of faith that all Assemblies of God churches adhere to. This list is derived from the official Statement of Fundamental Truth:

1. We Believe, the Scripture Inspired by God

The Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. 2Tim: 3: 15-17. 1Thsl: 2:13, 2Pet: 1:20-21

2. We Believe, There is Only One True God

The one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM, “the creator of heaven and earth and the redeemer of mankind.

He has further revealed himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - Deuteronomy: 6:4; Isiah: 43:10, 11;  Matthew: 28:19 and Luke: 3:22

3. We Believe, in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God
He is God who is equal with the Father and the Holy Spirit and worthy to be worshiped - Romans: 9:5; Titus: 2:12; 1John: 5:20)

4. We Believe though originally good, Man willingly fell into sin.

Man was created good and upright in the image and likeness of God, but man by voluntary fell in sin and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. Genesis: 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans: 5:12-19

5. We Believe every person can be Restored Fellowship with God through ‘Salvation’

Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Trusting Christ, through faith and repentance, to be our personal Savior Acts: 4:12; Romans: 10:13-15; Romans: 3:24-25.

6. We Believe and practice two Ordinance of the Church.

The Lord gave us two ordinances to observe in the church that is Baptism and Lord’s Supper.

a) Baptism in Water by Immersion in the name of Father, Son and the Holy Spirit

The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded in the scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Savior and Lord are to be baptized. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in the newness of life – Matthew: 28: 19-20; Mark: 16: 16; Acts: 2: 38

b) Holy Communion (Lord’s Supper)

As a symbolic remembrance of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements – the bread and the fruit of the vine –

- A memorial of His suffering and death – Luke: 22: 19-20; 1Corinthians:11:26

7. We Believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost is a Special Experience Following Salvation

That empowers believers for witnessing and effective service, just as it did in the New Testament times.

All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ.- Matthew: 3: 11; Acts: 1: 4-5.

8. We Believe - The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Ghost

The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Ghost is ‘Speaking in Tongues,’ as experienced on the Day of Pentecost and referenced throughout Acts and Epistles

The baptism of believers in the Holy Ghost is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives them utterance (Acts: 2:4; 10:45-46; 19: 6)

9. We Believe Sanctification Initially Occurs at Salvation
And is not only a declaration that a believer is holy, but also a progressive lifelong process of separating from evil as believers continually draw closer to God and become more Christ like.
Romans: 5: 1; Romans: 3:25; 1 Corinthians: 1:2; 1 Corinthians: 6:11; 1 Thessalonians : 4:3.

10. We Believe The Church has a Mission

The Church has a mission to seek and save all those who are lost in sin. We believe ‘the Church’ is the Body of Christ and consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption (regardless of religious denomination) through the sacrificial death of His Son Jesus Christ. Matthew: 28: 18-20; Mark: 16: 15.

i) Church cannot be silent at any cost - Acts: 4: 18-20

ii) Build each other with fellowship, prayer and encouragement.- Acts: 4: 23, 30-31.

iii) Church cannot ignore the need of the ministry - Acts: 4: 34-37.

11. We Believe - A Divinely Called and Scriptural Ordained Leadership Ministry Serves the Church

The Bible teaches that each of us under leadership must commit ourselves to reach others for Christ, to worship Him with other believers, and to build up or edify the body of believers – the Church and to meet human need with ministries of love and compassion. 1Cor: 12: 28. Ephesians: 4: 11-13. Hebrews: 13: 17.

12. We Believe - in Divine Healing of the sick

We Believe in Divine Healing of the sick is a privilege for Christians Today and is provided for in Christ’s atonement (His sacrificial death on the cross for our sins).

There is salvation of our spirits and healing of our bodies through the His sacrificial death on the cross!
Matthew: 4: 23; Mark: 16: 18

13. We Believe - in The Blessed Hope -

When Jesus raptures His Church prior to His return to earth (the second coming) At this future moment in time all believers who have died will rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air, and Christians who are alive will be caught up with them, to be with the Lord forever. - Titus: 2: 12-13; Philippians: 3: 20; 1Theslonians: 4: 16.

14. We Believe in The Millennial reign of Christ

When Jesus returns with His saints at His second coming and begins His benevolent rule over earth for 1,000 years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation of national Israel and the establishment of universal peace. Matthew: 19:28. Luke: 22:30; Revelation: 5:10; Revelation: 20:4; Revelations: 20:6.

15. We Believe in the Final Judgment

A final judgment will take place for those who have rejected Christ. They will be judged for their sin and cosigned to eternal punishment in a punishing lake of fire. 2Peter: 2: 4; Revelation: 20: 13-15.

16. We Believe in New Heaven and a New Earth

We look forward to the perfect New Heaven and New Earth that Christ is preparing for all people, of all time, who have accepted Him.

We will live and dwell with him there forever following His millennial reign on Earth. And so shall we forever be with the Lord!’ - 2Peter: 3: 13; Isiah: 66: 22; Revelation: 21: 1.
